As part of the Kindergarten Program, we have introduced a new ongoing excursion which commenced on Wednesday, 4 September. This mobile, nature inspired playgroup is called ‘The bush Bus’. The Bush Bus playgroup is led by passionate facilitators who visit five locations each week in the areas surrounding Beveridge, Wallan, Kilmore, Broadford and Seymour.
The kinder children at Journey Wallan have been participating in this playgroup every Wednesday which is located at Hadfield Park.
Children can climb, explore, dig, play in mud or puddles, build, engage their senses and make discoveries as well as participate in programmed activities such as nature inspired arts and crafts, water play and educational nature walks and talks to uncover the indigenous flora and fauna of their local area.
The benefits of being connected to your local community and natural environment have been well documented and acknowledged as vital components of the physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual well-being of children and adults alike.
The kinder children have been enjoying their time so far. They have taken particular interest in flying the kite, with the other children running behind them while chasing the kite.
We look forward in continuing to build our memories and enjoyment with ‘The Bush Bus’.
